What a start to the manga, I like the how in a lot of media that repsent a launch order and defy it, it's show to right choice but here other people did launch so in the end it doesn't matter.

That's probably something we might see as the story goes on. I'd like to believe it is the same sub too since it has very similar interior design and the unlaunched nukes. The author clearly is drawing parallels with the presentation of the huge hallway of launch tubes being the same as it was in GLT.

No, it's a "day" for a submarine crew - they live and work isolated from the surface for months, so it's easy to change their life cycle to fit shifts.
