The hooded guy that keeps showing up is the 4th hero is my guess, and he's probably they very first hero. Also it looks like using the spell forces you to leave your body to travel back, meaning those aren't statutes they're their magically petrified bodies.

Auro was also petrified when she shifted herself out of the primary plane of existence with dimension magic. There is precedent.

Not just that they failed, but that they failed so many times they fell out of the world and living memory. Of those we only know these four, and there's nothing to say there weren't other heroes and would-be heroes that never even got the ability to reset

If memory serves, it was said there are 12 heroes on record and the demon lord revives every century or so after being defeated? And heroes can take a few decades to emerge again, it seems.

If this hero was 800 years ago and cooperated with a hero who'd been excised from reality for 1000 years, then there should be many more than 12 heroes.

The key is on the record, it's plausible that records were erased at some point from let's say utter Maou domination that Kaziel spoke of until they got defeated by another hero

I'm betting that that unnamed last guy was somehow a catalyst for the spell, and he had to sacrifice himself to summon the others back or something.

Also, kind of interesting how all three / four of them were erased and brought back, and yet Ignat is the only one that seems to be credited as verifiably existing. Like, he's definitely "the hero" and everyone agrees on that, but for the others, they're more like "eh, we're not really sure who they are?" I guess that could just have to do with how long they were gone, but at the same time I'm sort of getting the impression that it was somehow more than that.

Anyways, thanks for translating the series for so long!
