The spell exists so he can defeat the demon king, which he already did. The spell isn't going to work because he already defeated him but keeps using it regardless

playing devil's advocate, he knew that albus had the perseverance and strength necessary to beat the demon king within the allotted time for "change the world", which is why he was chosen. he had no way of knowing albus would abuse the spell to save one person

Oracle guy is 100% a hero that disappeared from the world, considering only Albus who has [Change the World] can notice their existence.
Now whether Oracle guy is a past hero, Albus himself, or a future hero? Not sure. Albus himself is the most likely, from a story perspective though.

looking at this, damn it really is amazing how the author started it a bit jokingly... then turned it into something noble and just sad

Honestly I'm glad they did. I really like these more serious and somewhat somber stories, that is, as long as they have a happy ending. That latter bit is probably the most important.
