I wonder if each party member he meets ends up not joining him on this journey because they have some kind of responsibility they feel like they need to stay behind for. Seems strange to introduce Lauro again just for him to not join the party.

Honestly, I was somewhat surprised I didn't see it coming that the "Current Cast has a happy ending despite still having past trauma" thing wasn't a "Perfect Ending" that was keyworded so much, in a time travel story.
For that, you also have to fix the past. That's the true greed for the perfect ending!!!

Lauro's here! And he's getting his share to attempt to deck Albus! I hope it's a running joke when we meet the old party members xD Totally deserved after all! Looking forward to Aval's attempt the most!
But I'm low-key glad that Lauro decided to be more sentimental and stick by his mom, kinda reminds me of Fern and Heiter, where Frieren encourages Heiter to let Fern mourn for him and be with him so he's left with no regrets, stories to tell, and happy memories until he moves on 🥲 I hope this also has Lauro become more empathetic towards his subordinates if he really decides to become a captain again.
