Page 11 | He really were an odd person
"were" doesn't make sense here.
Consider:
  • "He really is"
  • "He really was"
  • "He is really"
  • "He was really"
  • "He's really"
Further, since the rest of the dialogue about him in in present tense, don't use one with "was."
I'd treat "He's" as "He is" by default but I'd interpret the verb tense based on surrounding dialogue.

Well, Demon Queen is... something. I hoped to wait more to see her, but okay.
Sometimes, I wonder if artists have reasons other than thirst, to draw important figures like whores.
It's not just that her tits are huge and in the open, but they are being pushed against with a pseudo-bra piece of cloth like-corset, and a dress that has a slit open just enough to expose her panties at all shots that feature her.
Even if you'd argue: "Ah, she's a succubus" or some shit like that -- you'd expect the literal queen of all demons, to be more dignified. You don't need to dress like a bimbo to play your species' role. And that's especially coming from a country like Japan, that has a history of courtesans, so drawing your highest authority like a cheap wet dream is just really fucking weird. It would have been better to just drew her completely naked, or just covered by minimal robes.
Short version: sex sells.

Long version: sex sells, and otakus and geeks are not as much above it as we'd like to think. It happens since a long time ago in many corners of geekdom and only now we started to think differently, but still happens.

So, in the end, Eizo decided to accept a mass production order. I suppose he needs to do it once to learn if he likes it or not. I'd expect he won't enjoy it enough to keep doing it in the future.

I'd argue past tense is fine since she was recalling a past encounter. It was a conversation, it didn't need to be consistent with tense.

Wonder how it goes from this to her throwing down with the hero in chapter 1.

Human doing human stuff as usual and are still raciest even if the demons are not.
( Or you can also blame the beast-folk considering she only mentioned peace with humans and MC lives in their woods )
And grudges from the old war made them start a new war because of poor leadership / extremists groups.

Alternatively you could say both her and MC is longer lived the normal / immortal and this is 1+ generation later.
And there is a war over resources and not because somebody's feelings got hurt.

The problem with this statement is that, you are not considering local culture, and calling a women wearing less clothes as whore (it's like saying any women who wears bikini at a beach is a whore).

Like in Africa, many tribal women wear light clothes. And in many culture, the traditional clothes of women don't fully cover the body.

And being a Queen and acting dignified isn't related to clothes, but how they carry themselves (the concept of women needing to be fully covered is from more restrictive religious notion like from Christianity or Islam).

Truthfully, actual Whores (aka., Prostitution Workers) wear more classy and sublime clothes (or else just underwear in some regions/areas which allow such clothes to be wore in public), not the type we see in porn magazine or videos (those are more for entertainment rather than actual reality).

Also, Nylda explaining the whole process makes Eizo sound even weirder, even though it's exactly as she's experienced. :02:
i mean he is the Blacksmith at the End of the World. it could only be more appropriate if the world was a disk and his house was on the bottom side of the edge.

also i imagine Nylda, like Shamiko, has her horns shed occasionally and when they do, they become eddible croisonts.

The artist did indeed draw her with extreme sex appeal (though that might be on the LN illustrator, if that's where the character design came from).

But you're the one passing judgement, saying it's like a whore, undignified, like a bimbo and like a cheap wet dream.

I think there's more than enough space to criticize the way she's drawn, but you don't have to call her names to do it.

Thank you for the chapter! If you think Maou-sama looks familiar, you're right! She first appeared back in the first few pages of chapter 1. Give that chapter another look, trust me.
