@anki09: I'm sure glad that there's someone else with a bit of common sense who's reading this story and is willing to see where it goes before condemning it outright. If people think this is bad, they probably haven't suffered through Untouchable, or a myriad of other series that tend to irritate the audience. Even one of the oldest and longest running shoujo masterpieces took 149 chapters for the main characters to consummate their relationship.

Unlike just about everyone else, it seems, I totally get how Yuu is reacting so negatively. That kid got like 100 chapters' worth of battering on his heart and hope and expectations, remember? He's a walking Trust Issues right now, half frustration and half guilt, and he thinks he pushed Tsubasa too hard and she's just giving in out of a desperate ploy to save their precious friendship. No shit he doesn't think she's really in love with him. Just because he looks like a cold, composed, mature bishie doesn't mean he isn't actually a hot-blooded, fragile young man inside.

Plus it's actually kinda fun seeing Tsubasa on the other end for once. It's no fun if the girl wins her happy ending on a few half-hearted words. Delicious bitter youthful chocolate.

Yeah, everyone's forgetting that we, as the audience, can see Tsubasa's point of view, but Yuu can't. All he has been getting is that Tsubasa has been oblivious to his feelings, pseudo-rejected them, then said she liked him as a friend and a human being, and then suddenly flipped to saying she actually likes him when it seemed to her like he was acting distant. He wants her to like him, yeah, but he doesn't want her to date him out of pity or desperation, and that's what it looks like to him right now, because he doesn't have access to Tsubasa's internal train of thought like we do.

If I’ll be honest I understand why he’s reacting like that, I think it’s fair and more realistic but now some more stupid drama is going to happen and it’s just sp fucking frustrating, I think I’ll just wait until enough chapters are out and skip the stupid drama which will most likely turn out to Be predictable? He is being way too pointlessly careful. It's not like they have to fuck day one. They can just go on dates, hold hands, kiss, etc, and If they don't have mutual feelings it would become real obvious at some point along way before sex comes up. The dumbest conceit in romance stories is that once you've gone on a date or even had sex you can never be friends again. On the contrary the tension of unverified romantic feelings is way less conducive to a stable platonic relationship, which this comic even shows. The pacing of this story is becoming increasingly frustrating.

The entire gist of his argument is that people shouldn't date without feeling of lust(ie. desire to fuck and doing other censored stuffs), implying the entire point of dating and having a relationship is to satisfy sexual desire and not to bond, to procreate, to find suitable mate, to gain new experience, nor to make each other happy. His is an incredible shaky position to take from any perspective.

He only got away with such bullshit because Tsubasa is too dumb to build any reasonable argument. He must be feeling all smart and intellectual and mature now after winning an argument against some dumb teenager girl, lol.

If all he wanted to say was that he doesn't trust her words, then that's an incredibly roundabout way to do it.

When I saw the number of comments this chapter had, I knew something was going down ?We all enjoy different kinds of pacing for stories, and personally I think this one is pretty good. Sure it took 100 chapters, but there was development through all of it. The reason why it's super frustrating now is because as an audience, we know they both mutually like each other and want them to get together...of course I'm frustrated about that too, but if you think about it, Yuu acting like this is perfectly normal. He may be smart, but we know his personality is very hot-headed and he can't think logically when it comes to Tsubasa. So yeah he's being stupid, but considering how he had to acknowledge the fact that she only saw him as a friend for years (not just 100 chapters) and what she has done up to that point (saying she wasn't jealous when she actually was, etc) it's only natural he'd act this way. He's just trying to protect himself at this point and not get even more hurt. I don't think he's being logical in the slightest (when was he ever when it concerned Tsubasa?) And going along the same vein as what Tachibana said, you become an idiot when you like someone that much.

TLDR; What he's saying isn't the reason why he's rejecting her. It doesn't matter. He's just trying to not give himself more hope because he doesn't want to get hurt.
