I genuinely can not understand people who think like you. I’ve never read a single story that introduced a third wheel and responded with anything but a groan (unless the MC/FMC really sucks). I read couple focused romances for the couple, if a third wheel is introduced all it every does is grind things to a halt to pad run time. If the artist really wants to draw more cute characters then introduce a side couple or something, baiting just to force misunderstandings and drama has been so done to death there’s not even a dead horse left to beat.
Dear mangakas of Japan:
Genuine fears / past issues getting resolved in a way that brings the MC's closer together?
All day, every day.
A misunderstanding that gets resolved without a full volume of angst and/or eyerolling at how contrived it is?
I can work with that.
Complicated feelings about an existing character, with at least minimal foreshadowing?
Maybe.
Invent a third wheel so blatantly that we can practically hear the editor telling you, "You've got a good thing going, and I know just what would make it last a little longer..."?
Geddouddaheah. Ain't nobody got time for that. :slap:

All these people whining in the comments meanwhile literally nothing has actually happened. Neither main character is affected by this, no moves have been made, nothing. The sheer assumptions and stupidity yall are posting is absurd.
Maybe one of these days I'll understand why people think it makes them superior to complain in the comments about people complaining in the comments.

Do they feel like they're somehow being singled out and have to go on the attack in response? Are they incapable of recognizing irony, or of understanding that not everyone likes the same things they like?

But I guess it won't happen today. :aquadrink:

I love the misunderstanding/ntr baits in romance once in a while. It keeps you wanting more. Keep it coming author. People in general don’t like to admit but they love drama like these. It creates discussions and get people on edge wanting for more. The author is cooking. If I was the author I’d probably go as far as to make a love triangle.

The only time I fully support it is when within a chapter or two, the potential love rival is revealed to have 0 romantic interest in the male or female lead and instead wants to support them. I prefer to have the misunderstanding being more of a funny and lighthearted, or at the very least leading to a more immediate development than some actual ongoing drama that drags on and on. Good example of this shows up in the series Arakure Ojousama wa Monmon Shiteiru, which not only included the brief misunderstanding twice with each lead, but later dialed the misunderstanding up to 11 by having the male lead paired with one of the supporting male characters by a pair of fujoshis down bad.

In this case, I wouldn’t be surprised that an editor got the author to pull this just to try and make things more interesting. I could be more accepting of this so long as it pushes one of the leads to actually be more open with their feelings and doesn’t drag out. But I will detest everything if either lead starts to have their feelings waver because of a forced love triangle, and we end up with back-to-back chapters of constant angst.

Wow. This is soooo FUN! I'm really enjoying my time reading this. I'm gonna buy the comics since this is officially serialized now to show my support to the author :giggle::giggle::giggle:

That's fine, it's not like I'm looking for understanding from people on the internet. All I'm saying is that this trope is something a lot of people like because of its nature. It's not an uncommon PoV, otherwise, romance as a whole wouldn't keep using them, and obviously, this goes both ways—just as I enjoy a male third wheel, I enjoy a female third wheel.

After reading quite literally thousands of manga, with a good chunk of them being romance, for over three decades, one simply learn to enjoy the ride and not stress too much, and if something truly does so, I just move on.
aka literally be a consoomer, shut off your brain and keep on reading the same useless, pointless tropes

no wonder weebs are known for their low ass standards

my issue with this overused trope is it never leads to anything. the girl never actually gets stolen its just bait.

so its literally just completely useless drama to rile people up and serves no storywide purpose that you couldnt have done better without the most overused cliche known to mango.
