You know what? That really makes sense, why would that flashback even happen otherwise?Ok so the new guy is gay. Crisis averted. Had an inkling last chapter but now it's obvious.

Where did you get that from?Ok so the new guy is gay. Crisis averted. Had an inkling last chapter but now it's obvious.
All these people whining in the comments meanwhile literally nothing has actually happened. Neither main character is affected by this, no moves have been made, nothing. The sheer assumptions and stupidity yall are posting is absurd.
He's the mirror of Ibuki, a more feminine guy. Making him gay gives you a rival without actually having one so everyone doesn't hate him.Where did you get that from?
"We"? Who is that "We" you are talking about? That would be peak. We wouldn’t mind that actually. The new guy seems nice and he clicks with Ibuk. Would be nice and interesting to see. They would make a great couple tbh.
i thought the flashback was to show the friendship ending because he "stole his friends gf"He's the mirror of Ibuki, a more feminine guy. Making him gay gives you a rival without actually having one so everyone doesn't hate him.
Then the flashback. Classic lost friend due to rumours of them dating.
We've seen before how Tomo is completely incapable of seeing himself as a romantic interest, so the "external forces" thing actually is a necessary step in his case. It he can get over that hurdle, understanding what he didn't like about his completely and totally platonic-for-life pal getting up into some other guy's business becomes possible.I get it. They're in high school and that's when you will have multiple crushes, so that I'm not surprised about. But it seemed like they were both (especially him) were about to get to that next stage. Unfortunately it looks like they need external forces to make it happen. Which is a shame. Thanks for the chapter!!!
That's why I wish she would have stepped up and got in his face about it. I would like to see some more series where the one who has the crush steps up and tells them how they exactly feel and get their point across. Without any outside help. Like another series that had a princely GF but unfortunately was axed in the trial stage ( they were trying to get published, and I really miss it). We've seen before how Tomo is completely incapable of seeing himself as a romantic interest, so the "external forces" thing actually is a necessary step in his case. And only then can Ibuki drag him to said "next stage".
