It's amazing how much better this series is when the two leads are actually interacting instead of being mostly kept apart for 20 chapters. Also now that they're together I'd like conclusively state that the rivals added nothing interesting to this series.

That's a shame but this was probably enough of an excuse for the author to tell editor-san to piss off and let them drop the played out rival plot.

I personally still do think that the creepy hypocrite stalker and the poor writing around him (there actually was potential but NONE of it was used e.g. him acknowledging that he is actively ruining another relationship again by stalking) mostly ruined the series but if this arc (excluding ch46) is anything to go by, it might just get better again.

only now saw this reply but he did a total of 0 wingman things, is a habitual stalker (factually and with evidence from his backstory), has no depth or development, completely changed the main pair‘s dynamic for no reason and only is allowed to exist because of Ibuki acting completely out of character.

The character sucks, any writing around him sucks and he ruined 1000 things for every 1 thing he added.

Despite how awesome this manga is, I legit thought about dropping it 7 chapters back when I thought they were going the triangle/drama/delayed confession route.
