Here we go again with these people... I detest how it's always the MC's fault for not recognizing the FC's feelings. Can she fucking talk like a normal human being? MC is not capable of reading minds or do detective work to deduce that she likes him. How's anyone gonna be able to read the obscure signs and clues and conclude "yep, she likes me"? Women themselves would also say that just because they are your friends, doesn't mean they want to bang you as well. And I think it's much better that way. If you like someone, say so properly. Don't just leave signs and clues and expect them to understand. It's annoying, and you're a coward.

Wasn’t the initial premise, at least in the pre-serialization, that he wouldn’t confess to her until he got taller?

I think this changed but I might be confusing things.
He would be "cooler" than her by then.

The lecture gave me mixed thoughts i dunno know what dad man expected tomo to do when he was being locked down for like 2 seconds till he came in but tomo did hug her and whether or not it would be bad for someone to comfort a scared person when the mother might already know about her fear. Though i have seen many times someone just not caring for the reason behind something and taking it face value so he may be right?

What did Tomo even do wrong exactly? She fell on top of him then dad appeared moments later. He didn't even have time to make the wrong choice about something

This chapter feels like a betrayal. It seemed clear to me from not just the premise, but previous chapters as well that the author is interested in challenging gender norms with this series. Standout example is the conversation between Ibuki and that one teacher about uniforms and changing times.

And then we get this bullshit where it's the man's responsibility that nothing bad happens to the woman as if he by nature is some kind of protector. Now, it may be true that Tomoaki took on the responsibility of ensuring nothing bad would happen to Ibuki, and he failed in doing so as she did have a moment of panic as a result of the lights going out (granted the father seems more interested in how the situation could be misunderstood by others), but not only was this the result of both of their actions (they both pressed the light-switch), it also has nothing to do with Tomoaki being a man (his father points out that as a man it's Tomoaki's duty to something-or-other).

Now there's a chance that this moment of friction is a setup that will get pushback later, but the pivot into establishing what relationship Tomoaki & Ibuki should have going forward leaves me worried that this incident is merely a setup for this next plot point and will otherwise remain unaddressed. If the latter, then I'm deeply disappointed.
