I hope you are all buying the official Kakushigoto manga translations.

The chapter I just released was actually intended for April Fools' to give us plausible deniability against the Kodansha mafia, but alas I messed it up.

The licensing rustled our jimmies for a bit because it is the first time it happened to us. I originally got into scanlation because I wanted to read more Kumeta. Now Kakushigoto is licensed and they will probably catch up with us quickly. I also have other things on my mind recently and am not as eager anymore to learn what happens next in Kakushigoto as I used to be. Of course, releasing licensed manga leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and I'm generally happy that Kodansha picked it up. For all these reasons it makes sense to drop Kakushigoto and focus on other series.

That said, there is no particular desire over here to stop getting the occasional chapter out (maybe even more frequently, who knows!) because, as these things happen, scanlation for me turned from a means to an end into a hobby over time and I wouldn't like to give up my leisure time Kakushigoto scanlation. We'll see, I guess.

Yeah I kinda fully expected them to drop this. Official releases are good quality though, thankfully, so they're leaving us in good hands. Big thanks to Kicchiri Scans for giving us the gift of Kakushigoto and so many other Kumetan series over the years. 🤗

argh, I hate digital-only though... if they would just make books I'd have bought them already (in fact, I actually own some JP Kakushigoto books).
either way, whether or not this continues, thanks for all the scans so far. this is probably my favorite Kumeta manga and it's been a joy to read.

Yeah that's fair. They're releasing English versions at a rate of one a month (which, nice. Wish they'd treat some other series as well though), so they'll have caught up to the scanlations pretty soon. Thanks for the updates till now.
