So he can't see through the 4th wall but can feel something beyond the 4th wall watching him.

It feel a little like the saying "stare at the abyss long enough. The abyss would stare back at you"

Wow, this was really enjoyable. A bit rough in the execution (especially around the middle...a wee bit too much unnecessary exposition) but the ending blew it out of the water. I'm guessing the author started with that ending and built the story around it.

Hope to see more from the author if they can keep up this level of creativity
