It's nice to see Matilda actually acknowledge how much she sucked, but I know that this punishment can't be anything meaningfully punishing enough to care. I'm persistently annoyed how Tadashi got strong-armed into this marriage+alliance with the kingdom despite them doing literally nothing useful for him beyond being a plot device to get him into "nation-level" conflicts.

I think the marriage to Matilda makes more sense than some of the other marriages. For one, it gives him a trained and established fighting force to help deal with the usurper demon king, and it gives him direct control over the kingdom so he can ensure peace at least for his lifetime and possibly that of his children's lifetimes. Combined with him marrying the regent of the demon queen and acting like a father figure to the young queen, Tadashi now basically rules over the world once they deal with the usurper.

this is unironically the kinda thing that only really sexual punishment would fix, she'd have survivor's guilt for basically ever and engage on stupid shit until she feels like she redeemed herself until something drastic happens

Yes, please. Let her acknowledge and realize just how much shit she did to you and your residents. Many, MANY of your current citizens’ family members died fighting her forces. She hasn’t had a long enough reflectance period. If you go back to the chapters when she was attacking the country, she was ruthless and terrible.
