To explain some of what they're talking about:

John Cassavettes was an actor and director, he was in the cast of Rosemary's Baby (1968) but didn't direct. So that's likely why the connection was made in the conversation. So when Gloria (1980) was mentioned the response was again about the lead actor (of the 1999 remake) rather than the director.

Not overly familiar with the other names... mostly amused that we've gone from alcohol aficionado related discussions to film ones now. I kind of like that this series has structured its yuri in incidental moments of women just being really nerdy with one another. 😁

Is it an EXCELLENT manga? Not really. But it is very comfy and looks to be free of drama, plus I always like it when mango gives me knowledge of food instead of turning it into a shounen food battle with out-the-ass bs + harem + over-reactions

Aahh i did't get any of the references even though i had watched ton of movies 😭😭😭
