This does remind me of a quote but it escapes my mind. but yeah Gaia is doing family cult 101 best way to keep children subservient to you is by isolating them from outside environment, dakini using her abilities would have sped up the process by like a week at best but simply being an outside influence who talks to the kids and offers advice, and being someone else they can fall back on is more than enough to destroy the family's foundation.
