Throughout the next arc, Jeanne (with questionable help from Ami) will come to understand more about love, but that knowledge will hurt her when, right before she confesses at the festival, she realizes that Kyougi's heart only has room for Kanan. Not wanting to spoil their relationship, she says "never mind," puts on a strong face, and then goes home to the dog house to cry. Kanan returns home to a sobbing angel in her yard, and, still on cloud nine from her festival time with Kyougi, takes pity on the saint and takes her inside to comfort her and praise her and cheer her up, and eventually, as they fall asleep in Kanan's bed together, Jeanne realizes she has now committed the greatest blasphemy: she's fallen in love with a demon.
