That was a good ending considering everything, especially having a believable reason for why they would meet in the boat. Both "mothers" saw their daughters off at the port. I enjoyed this series even if cut a bit short.

Nah, it wasn't cut short, it was planned for this long (3 vols). TBH, 3 vols is good for a Yuri Hime series. Most comics that run there have 2-3 volumes...

The solution is kinda cool. she actually break off the marriage, and go oversea.
but the whole cliffhanger of " where she gone" are cliche and honestly lame. Why even timeskip to modern time when you don't even show any historians ? :ROFLMAO: Cut that off, give a timeskip where they together, heck, let show timeship and MC met parent again, and her "roommate".
also, expected, but childhood friend lose again :aquadrink:

It was a good read, interesting, but the ending was quite average. I mean, they're together, which is great. But it could had got rid of the goodbye to Takahino which was meaningless and the whole time skip to present days was quite illogical.
Could had just shown they thriving later on and Ayano calling Tsubaki her new name.

ahh, the sneaky use of the fire to effectively fake her death, what a cathartic play
I'm curious how imagery from that period would end up in modern day commercials, that's a bit of a stretch

I'm quite satisfied with us merely getting a portrait of the two of them together as adults~
and the new name being held from us? while it does suck, I do think it's fun when authors decide to keep details between the characters. it's cheeky~

wait, what???
what do you mean lose?
there wasn't a childhood friend in the race?

if you mean Tomoe, she's married to bushido. she didn't once show any attraction to Ayano
if you mean Yae, well I guess yea she did lose......

I actually liked the parts where Ayano stood up for herself to her parents and Takahiko, I would've liked maybe a bit more focus on Tsubaki and Ayano at the end, the modern timeskip was a bit off when we could've had Ayano bestow Tsubaki with a new name, have a big kiss and then a jump to that portrait to show them successful and together.

I'm not gonna lie, I am a bit disappointed we didn't get to see them settle down and make it overseas as a successful fashion designer and her beautiful muse-model wife. Also, the moment where they met again in the boat was a missed opportunity for a kiss or at least a big hug. I really liked the series overall, very sweet.

Not bad but a little disappointing that we didn't get to see them enter a romantic relationship. Like yes it was implied but there was no confession, no kiss, only a relationship that we can guess will lead to more. It would have been nice if there was an epilogue chapter to see how things are going for them in a couple years or something instead of a single photograph though. Also why jump to the modern day?

Lol. Tsubaki was just hiding behind a couch this whole time. I was suspecting that the fiance's sister was holding her captive or something, but that might be a bit too much of a soap-opera vibe for this manga. Still, the ending is just a bit too clean and convenient. Though I'm glad they ended up together.

Overall, this was a pretty cute series. Thank you for translating!
