Tsubaki throwing Ayano out makes more sense as a hurt reaction to waking up from a dream than as a part of the brothel's long con.

Ayano keeps trying to mess up her other relationships because of a fake person. She refused to see Tsubaki so she considered the truth badmouthing and gossip. Now she will realize that there are consequences to that.

One thing it never changes, whether they have sex life outside the main family, is that the purpose of marriage has always been the union of two houses for purposes of wealth and reproduction. I suppose I was hoping some line from Ayano along "you're pure but you do this kind of job", but this realistic take is nice. And Tsubame is good at multitasking, I'm sure they can both be happy together... if they enter a time machine and get sent to the present.

I'm already pre shooting a chapter where the two of them will lose sight of each other. One continuing her prostitute's career and the other marrying a man and having some babies.
Time skips, until they are grannies and randomly encounter each other. They will share their experiences after they break off and finally confess their feelings and regrets not being with their self when they were young and promise to be with each other until their last day.
And of course, the BFF will never confess her feeling for the MC and even though she did, she will get a big Nope from her. And she will go marry a man and have some babies.
The end.

Yuri story setup in a historical old Japan (more or less accurate) are most of the time frustrating and full of wishful wishes. When it doesn't end with the main couples acknowledging their true or possibly starting dating, we get the "I'm already married, and I have kids, so I can't date you even if you are the love of my life" or "I'm going to travel all around or study in another country so adios my love" or the unpopular one "dead lesbian".

I would really like a story where the couple decide to live their life even though everyone is against them and without hiding their self behind a (fake) marriage with a dude.

I think this is the point in the story where its premise has fully crystallized. This is where Ayano is truly faced with the gravity of the situation (though she still doesn't know Tsubaki was tasked with milking her for all she was worth). She hates the life plan that was designated for her, and absolutely does not want to be like her mother. She can admit defeat and give up on her dreams, or fight smart and prove both her mother and Tsubaki wrong. If she really is a fashion designer prodigy, she might just be able to get her own business going.
