Honest question - does someone enjoy reading stories with cretins as MCs? Even if so, even cretins have to be designed correctly. The author here just decided that our MC is going to be oblivious to his own powers no matter what, like a fucking curse. He could be praised, revered like a god, and he still would say that he didn't do anything and that he's just "normal".
His humility fetish is actually infuriating. What purpose does it even serve? Comedy? Does anyone actually find this funny? Even if they did, the whole manga is about rehashing the same joke every fucking time. "MC OP", "Haha no, I'm normal" over and over again. How is this funny?
And the worst part? His "friends" don't even make an effort to actually tell him that he's wrong. Ok, she has been with him only six days, so what? She didn't even try to actually teach him any common sense, just looked at what he did with astonishment, said "wow", and reaped the benefits. Friend? Fuck no, she's clearly just using him.
Why the hell does everyone here sound so defeated when talking about making him understand what he's actually doing, when no one even tried ONCE? Not even that, they actually work AGAINST him, even faking the results of his exam without telling him for some reason. This doesn't make any sense. They want him to realize his power, but they do everything not to make it happen.
And of course they didn't even answer the question why they're deceiving him. Because there's no fucking reason, the author's just too lazy and incompetent to create one and wants his cretin to remain clueless.
This writing is so poor, it's the first time I actually want to send hate mail to the author.

Gap moe I guess... Him being weak looking and unassuming then he gets OP with those iron dragons...or maybe in the future like god like beings being mined like nothing.

Power fantasy at best...

Dunno why she's angry tho

I might be more clever than the average person, but I don't really see the difference between Kuruto and most battle shounen protagonists. And those are always popular.
Kuruto isn't really like Aho Girl (I hated the titular character of that manga, and dropped it when I saw this isn't getting better). He is properly thinking, even if he arrives at wrong conclusions every time.

Information asymmetry is the basis of any good comedy. "Geniuses" who magically have access to all information are unrealistic, and make more sense as superpowers, not intelligence.

His humility fetish is actually infuriating. What purpose does it even serve? Comedy? Does anyone actually find this funny? Even if they did, the whole manga is about rehashing the same joke every fucking time. "MC OP", "Haha no, I'm normal" over and over again. How is this funny?
The true purpose, is preserving the main comedy drive of the story, which is Kuruto accidentally overturning everyone's expectations.
At the moment, the manga has 47 translated chapters, and I'm eagerly waiting for the next one, so clearly the author is doing something right. Still, it looks like the new character might knock some common sense into Kuruto.

At least they didn't go with the "OHHH he's so strong it's too scary i'm just gonna tell everyone he's a monster!" trope.

Shina is right: the MC is an idiot. At least he's an entertaining idiot, for the reader, that is.

I'm guessing that everyone (including Shina as of the end of the chapter) figures that Kuruto would just bugger off and get himself into danger if he finds out about his OP nature. Yes, they are kind of using him to protect the princess right now, but I get why they've been driven to desperation with this current plan.

I also understand their frustration. While my wife certainly isn't an isekai protagonist, she's unaware of just how amazing and awesome she really is, and no amount of me pointing this out is going to change her mind.

This was a badly needed chapter, or rather events have come to a head and the elephant in the room (Kuruto's SSS-rank abilities and his ignorance of them) needed to be addressed.

What a lot of readers seem to have forgotten is Kuruto's time with his former adventuring party. He was with them for years and was physically, mentally, and emotionally abused and exploited--again, for years. He's now been away from the party for less than two weeks.

Yurishia met him, as she points out, six days ago. Six days interacting with someone who is not his therapist is not going to undo those years of abuse and exploitation. So him not realizing what he's capable of when all his prior efforts were denigrated? Yeah, that gets a pass from me. When he was with Shiina in room with the iron golem dragons, we got a taste of his vulnerability. That he thinks he needs physical strength to help save the other party members is telling--he doesn't see how his other skills can contribute, yet.

I see Shiina as an audience insert, asking the questions that the audience would have about the situation. Are all the answers that she got satisfactory? No, but, some of this must be done and in the following ways.

The way I see it, once Kuruto becomes aware of what he can do, that will be the end of the story. Or should be. Once he realizes that there is basically nothing beyond his ambition and reach, when he can wield power that others can only dream of, this will be his happily ever after.

Well people's humanity is dwindling both in real world and in MC's world. Common sense too.

Edit: I wonder why did they chose this manga for anime adaptation...

Not sure how many time has passed, but he already built the foundation for the atelier.
Maybe the gaslighting went too far, but the title of this manga is: the unaware atelier meister

not to mention, they keep repeating how mc will get used and taken advantage by others, but not only they do anything to keep him informed and teach him about such things, they are the ones who are actively taking advantage of him while pretending to take care of him and "protect him from getting taken advantage of"...it''s actually disturbing

I see it more like - they give him jobs to make him busy and feel needed/fulfilled - as a form of protecting him. Aka so that he wont run around looking for a job/work and get lumped with bad people like his former party.

Also I don't think his ignorance about his OPness is purely cause of abuse - the Bandana girl seems to be like his care-taker - he was thought by a Sage IIRC, probably has no clue it was a Sage, and she kinda did stuff behind the scenes to keep his abilities hidden too. So like she and the new set of people both "use him" to protect him in some weirdo thou working way.

As a side note, Shina thus far seems to be best girl in this manga - at least for me. Cute, petanko, hot-pants + over-knee, long hair, and she is nice too. The ex-royal adventurer girl is also cute, nice, small enough rack, long hair, but her clothes are meh ;). Princess seems "yanderish" - sure cute, petanko, long hair - but her fascination/addiction to MC is a turn-off for me.

Shina is both the most rational and the least rational person in that group at the same time. Bro saved your ass and you're like oh no he strong he scary when not a speck of ill will radiates off him. I'd understand not wanting to be wrapped up in matters bigger than yourself but she was scared of him not that, bruh.
