I'm a bit confused as to what's going on here...
I thought it was a thing about how people sometimes end up being slaves to their pets. It happened to my cousin - she couldn't do things like long vacations or go to certain places, because her chocolate lab needed constant care as it got older. But maybe there's something else. It was kind of hard to follow this one.

This manga has its stories completely jumbled, its not scary because we literally can't follow what's supposed to be happening and not in a intriguing way, a poorly thought out way. For all we know, the bunny might not even exist. She mentioned something about rotting in the beginning so she might know it's already dead??

Her rabbit died while she was on vacation. She wakes up hungover, says she has to hurry to catch her flight, but should have time to clean the rabbit's food and water dispensers and cage. But in the bottom panel of the first page you can see the water dispenser and the food bowl sitting empty on top of the refrigerator, with her forgetting to fill them and put them back in the cage with the rabbit. The ending has her returning to her apartment after apparently cutting her vacation short to go check on her bunny, who is almost certainly dead of dehydration.

Everything between that is kinda muddled, but I think the black rabbit they have to swerve to avoid is actually the ghost of Rope, who at this point is dead and is probably a vengeful spirit but an angry bunny ghost is pretty limited in what it can to do to get revenge, so has to settle for trying and failing to get them to drive off a dangerous mountain road.

And then there's the revelation that her mother asking about the bunny is what makes her realize that she forgot to leave it food and water, but if her mother realized she had forgotten to drop her pet rabbit off before she went on vacation shouldn't she have said something sooner? Like, say, in less time than it would take for an unattended rabbit to die?

So the gist of it is that a moment of negligence resulted in the death of her pet rabbit, and that's the scary part. How it gets from that premise to the reveal is... questionable.

A lot of people seem confused by this story, but it's actually quite common - and sad. It's happened to me several times. She went out drinking with acquaintances and got a little too drunk, and came home late. She was both hungry and a little confused when she got home, so in her inebriated state she unfortunately ate her pet rabbit, and then forgot about it the day after. Toward the end her vision is turning dark because she is dying from rabbit SARS that you get from eating rabbit meat.

The timeline of events in this chapter confuses me (I'm sure the author did that on purpose)

From my understanding it happened like this:
Day 1 (drinking party page 12 and 13)
Day 2 (day of the flight page 1)
Day 3+ (2 weeks of vacation implied by page 1 panel #3)
Day X (Last day of vacation page 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,14)
Day X+1 (MC returns home page 15)

  • (Day 1) MC went on a drinking party then decided to drink a lot in order to have courage to talk to a guy
  • (Day 1) MC came home really drunk then fell asleep and forgot about the taxi she was waiting for (the taxi is for transporting the bunny to her parents home)
  • (Day 2) MC woke up panicking from the fear of missing her flight, she forgot about last night (day 1)
  • (Day 2) MC still decided to clean the rabbit's cage (she does not want the rotting smell of rabbit poops, I assume) and left the water dispenser + feeder on top of the fridge
  • (Day 2) Even though she cleaned the cage, she still did not realize that she was supposed to leave the rabbit in her parents house last night (day 1)
  • (Day 3+) 2 weeks vacation montage (page 9)
  • (Day X) On the last day of her vacation she and her group decided to go a mountain(?) to look at a protected species (black rabbit)
  • (Day X) In their room the group talked about MC's rabbit and she realized she forgot to leave the rabbit in her parents care
  • (Day X+1) MC rushed back home but it was too late.

Scary part(?):
  • Drinking too much to impress or talk to someone
  • Forgetting your responsibilities because you're drunk
  • MC + Parents not talking about the rabbit for 2 weeks (unrealistic but you'll never know, you might be next)
  • Losing the one you love because of neglect
  • Page 1 Panel 3
