Oh it's not just "back" it's BACK. Great two chapters, too, immediately reminding us of what makes our leads so interesting and why we're desperate for them to get together.

I desperately hope for a happy ending. Rokuro is a fascinating male lead, a charming romantic who is just effortlessly gentlemanly, but also deeply emotional, introspective, and fundamentally insecure and lonely. Honestly if guys like him were common leads in shoujo/jousei romance manga, I'd be reading all of them all the time.

Yukino is fascinating, her actions both understandable and strange, obviously rooted in a self-image that doesn't match what we see. Girl gave up when she realized she WASN'T the side piece. But last chapter she said in the mirror she wasn't charming, started to cry, remembered Rokuro speaking her name, masturbated and then apologized to the air. Fuck's going on with her?

Rokuro is just so charismatic, i love how he is like in his 40's but acting like a teenager who is falling in love for the first time, of course, with sprinkles of experience and charm.
Also i can understand yukino having this kind of reaction, cuz he really idealizes her a lot and she sees herself as a terrible person...They are both complex and relatable at the same time lmao
Can't wait to read more! ^.^

Since it didn't say in the translation, the kanji 成美銀狼 used in the author's pen-name are "become" "beauty" "silver" and "wolf". Hence the imagery and them thinking it was a bit much.

I think Yukino's weird behavior is because there might be some truth to the supposed affair by her former husband. In her mind what she probably wants to do is WIN AGAINST ANOTHER WOMAN, like the side chick did against her.

remind me, is his backstory the one where he had an affair with his father's mistress or something long ago? and the love interest's age actually matches to be his child assuming that he did knock up the mistress?

You know, I didn't think about that. The idea that she'd be desired even though Rokuro has someone else was exciting and validating because she was doing what was done to her. A well-liked, relatively popular author who's older than her, smooth, romantic, and charming around her, and who has such a beautiful family already? The idea was too much for her to resist and it made her feel desirable again.

When it turns out she was basically making up a story about him finding her so attractive he'd betray his family, that'd bring about the sort of reverse uno effect we saw here because now not only is she not beating anyone else, the realization that she was basically hoping she was a homewrecker would hit her and re-enforce the idea that she's not worth anyone's time.

My reservations are that husband didn't seem to be all that sexual of a being, but we also haven't had a ton of time with him. He's staying with a bit of a feminine looking art guy, but they just seem like buddies who don't have anything going on. This can be a COMPOUNDED MISUNDERSTANDING where her husband didn't want to marry her because he doesn't actually like the idea of marriage or sex in general, Yukino believing that made her a failure of a woman who was deeply undesirable, and the rumors starting up about an affair confirming that belief too deeply to shake. When the whole time the dude just isn't into, you know, sex. Nor making love. 50 Cent's mind would be blown.

Not only that, but she grew up in the town where the novel that was basically his autobiography he wrote after his father died is set. It's one of the flags that I'm hoping doesn't mean what I think it means, especially because the two look nothing alike and there's never been any comments about how she looks anything like his father's mistress, someone he sure as shit would remember. I also don't believe the age is an exact match, just sort of in the possible range. Which honestly would be anyone in their 20s. This is something that people other than Yukino find upsetting, but she very notably has never reacted negatively to his age and seems confused when others call him old.
One of the reasons I think this is actually supposed to be, rather than the tragic 'love that shouldn't have been' stories the author has written before. But the possibility is there and I'm pretty sure that knowledge ends in ffffucking suicide for the both of them.

Well, no. Given what we've seen of him and how he behaves, it's probably a simple Peter III situation where, being a somewhat mediocre guy married to a very attractive and accomplished woman, he picked a more mediocre woman he could feel comfortable with.

Eh, to me it reads like the dude might be gay. Or well, queer ish to asexual. He couldn't show her the married life people talk about, it's also why he says he doesn't get it, he is very polite and reserved but when reading the MCs love stories he just doesn't get it.

I have a hard time with that. He seems genuinely passionate about writing, suffered backlash from his family to do it, and is well respected as an up and coming author of mythology and poetry. The only person who we've seen outright hate his writing is Kikue, who is NOT a fan of him personally because he hurt Yukino, who she's very protective of.

Meanwhile, we did see him outright say that "he doesn't understand how things should be between men and women," which feels way more like someone who got forced into marriage, had no idea how to deal with it, and hurt his wife dearly because of it. The affair idea came from Kikue too, and she hates that guy and can barely contain a neutral tone. I see him more lost and lacking in sensuality than the kind of guy who cheats on his wife cause she's too cool for him.
