When I once heard that line directed at me -- "You're a good person, I'm not good enough for you." -- I just assumed she wasn't attracted to me. It's just a silly lie told to avoid hurting people's feelings. Probably the mangaka herself has used it before.

Listen, im sure she has her reasons but i don't like people who scheme and lie just to get what they want. I understand it goes with the theme of her being an uncatchable fox but still her behaviour isnt exactly charming.

What year does this take place? Weed at a disco? And Yukino’s bell bottoms?

For some reason, I can relate to Yukino. When you don't have a good outlook of yourself and think of yourself less worthy. You would want to find someone who accepts you. But when you see that someone who is good to you, you then start to fear: "what if I taint this person?" What if I hurt this person even more than this?" "What if the person gets disillusioned when they see me for who I am?" Questions that haunt you, because you've been used to being criticised you, words that spark a sense of intimacy reminds you of that low regard for oneself.
What Yukino has is actually the fear of intimacy, fearing that she will get hurt, just as she fears hurting anyone more than she already does.
All that said, poor guy. He is quite a gentleman.

I love how people had been putting her in a pedestal saying she was lying about her marriage, that she was indeed a virgin, that she would never be with someone just for fun, treating her like a pure maiden and now that they can't defend her anymore they took it against the mangaka lol
