It seems the premise is that the MC is a lying scumbag. He sees women as convenient ATMs whom he'll have to abandon once they catch on he doesn't have any long-term relationship plans with them. Compensated dating, but without telling your customer that you're in it purely for the money I guess. The twist is that his current target is so pathetic, having been taken advantage of by people far worse than him, that he actually ends up empathising with her.

Early days so far but most chapters have followed this structure:

• MC clarifies in an inner monologue he's a scumbag
• His target reveals, in black speech bubbles, how she's been duped and scammed before and how grateful she is that MC is better than her previous partners.
• MC reveals to the audience he's actually a caring person by raising his voice when reassuring the girl that he'll be good to her.

Like, I get the punchline; There's supposed to be this gap: the MC is a scumbag and knows he's treating his victims badly, but he actually cares about his victims. I'm not sure if it really works. The two things don't just seem contradictory, they seem paradoxical.

If you really want to make it work, you'll have to show the MC changing, becoming more responsible and not just tell his target that he cares about her, because that's what he's been telling all of them before he leaves them. Clarify that he's serious with his actions, because his words are toothless due to the premise being he's a lying scumbag.
