To me, monogamy is a pro-male policy. Male protects their assets from other males, while female choices are limited as we move into complex societies. If female’s choice is valued above all, there could be around 10 to 25 percents of men with a partner, leaving the rest of them with little purpose in life. After all, female are not interested in carrying children of inferior quality mates. That’s not to say I’m against monogamy. I think one of the reason that the Middle East wealth gap is so extreme and extremism seems more popular than elsewhere is because of polygamy preventing vast amount of men from getting a mate. That, in turn, give men less reason to seek stability and push them towards adventuring in order to cease a mate.
