Yeah, I kind of get the last page. Just being called "cute" and "pretty" doesn't mean crap. Like, if someone worked hard for their looks that is warranted, and even appreciated. But if someone just exists, and that's all people say when they compliment them, there's that feeling of "really? That's the best thing you can compliment me on? Not everything else I've worked hard to achieve, but something I've just been born as?"

I don't know where they're going to go with that, but that's just my first impression of that line

Maybe his sister is FtM. But its also possible that he's oversimplifying things since he's a guy. If you're pretty, everybody feels entitled to you, guys give you gifts hoping to get "something" in return, everyone wants to touch you, other girls might hate you if you're shy and think "oh Miss Priss wants to act so humble" and so on. Maybe that's why he's crossdressing, he wants an idea of why its enough to make her a shut-in.
