I don't see any harm with that senpai just plainly expressing his feelings to the female lead. I feel like he said it without any deep meaning. If I see a girl look so cute with her outfit or hair, imma voice it out. Akira should learn how to control her jealousy, comapring yourself to others is the number one struggle as a part of lgbt. cuz it's yourself ur in war with.

Can totally relate to being creeped out when guys complimented girl by saying she is cute. @Mobluby I agree that when complimenting someone you know, you should try to say something they will like, and calling someone who presents boyish "cute" is probably unwise. I also agree that if Hime doesn't like the complement she should not feel obligated to feel happy about it.

But I disagree with the blanket statement that men should "keep their comments to themselves." High school me loved it if a guy called me cute, even if I wasn't attracted to him. I had low self-esteem, and it made me happy someone thought I was worth commenting on. I realize that isn't all women, but a lot of women do like compliments. The guy shouldn't be sexual/creepy about it, and shouldn't expect that the girl will go out with him just cuz he said a nice thing. But I think saying nice things to people you know is usually a good thing, irrespective of gender.
