i found myself checking the front page and slowly scrolling down, wondering whether a final chapter was written down. glad there wasn't any! though i'm now curious how the story will expand from here.

the real family history needs to be cleared up for philia. she deserves being able to direct her feelings at the right people to receive them and she needs to be recognized as her mothers child.
better than staying with her abusive kidnappers who sold her out like livestock.
tender honesty is a virtue (or at least diminishes damage).
and her mother really needs some love too.

There was a complaint from one reviewer that Vol 2's plot was too cliche compared to Vol 1.

Calling something "cliché" is pointless. Anything can be considered cliché if you've already seen it happen somewhere else before. An inexperienced reader may find that same "cliché story" to be most original.

Thus, reviewing something using the criteria of whether it happened in other stories that maybe only you the reviewer have read is utterly pointless. What's important is the execution.

That "review" was nothing more that a description of the events with a biased perspective. Worthless, unless you share the same perspective or have known the reviewer for a while. Not telling us whether the story made sense in-universe, instead complaining that nothing "surprising" happend.

If your main goal from reading stories is to experience new things, then the more you read, the more disappointed you'll become. Most stories are the same thing retold over and over again, just with different details and combinations.

Zoom out far enough and there are really only a few core types of stories. And only a limited amount of things can logically happen at any moment of the story.

There are so many writers nowadays that we are simply saturated and seeing the limits of what is logically possible in stories. So, many authors are resorting to writing stories where the "impossible" happens (which is actually a much larger category, since there are no restrictions). Things that make no logical sense, which make the story "surprising", "subverting your expectations".

They don't realise (or willfully ignore) that by doing that they completely destroy the stakes, proving that anything can happen, so there's no point to expect anything from the story.

So, I'll stick to reading well executed but "cliché" stories because they're capable of having emotional impact, unlike this new style of writing.

All that to say, I'll be adding this series to my bookshelf.

This feels like the end of the story as a whole, but I am more than happy to have more :p

also, about cliches, I think they are fine, it depends how they are handled

All those events and it's only VOLUME ONE???
Anyway, that means more cinnamon rolls for us.
P/s: Philia's OP, caring and can't cook? Philia Kaslana then.

So what's next after this? Demon King? Isekai annoying bitch? Dwemer Ruin and old world exploration? Dark Continent and 8 Kings of Gourmet? Revenge Loop? Cliche royal romance conflict? Time travel with Delorean?

The fact that all these chapters are only from vol 1 is insane to me. This one was written amazingly well. The last few chapters of everything playing out was absolute cinema. I'm glad I waited for the batch uploads before reading it all at once.

If they decide to end with the next chapter, I'd be 100% fine with it. But if they continue to adapt the rest of the volumes, I'd also be 100% okay with that. As MostlyHumanTL said, how it is executed that matters, not how original it is. I've read plenty of exiled/revenge manga/manhwa and this one was one of the best, if not the best, series I've read so far. Even if they go to generic fantasy stuff, I will be fine with how well written all these characters have been.

honestly, I'm stop reading after this and wait till it got enough chapter to comeback

This ending is perfect for me so I don't want it to be ruined by some left-hanging chapter after this one
