Because they and others such as Julius regarded Mia as the "golden child" of the Adenaur family. Back when Mia was very young, Philia was the only real choice for the Prince to be engaged to. After Mia became old enough, that Prince preferred Mia and switched to her. Perhaps the lesson so far from the author is that not everyone appreciates your work as much as your outward charisma and popularity. It seems strange for the First Prince of Gritonia is suppressed and threatened by the 2nd prince Julius. But it's the author's choice to force the plot along this way I guess. Clearly, Gritonia doesn't use meritocracy as the main determinant of worth for a saintess but "emotion" instead. It nevertheless feels strange that the sisters didn't communicate unless "on screen" in the story. It's like nothing existed unless it is on screen, but that peculiarity is part of the style of this story's forced plot.Man, while I know the prince is a lost cause, why were her parents so awful?
