The real culprit sincerely bows down apologizing and now they can board the ship while being regarded as city saviors. Unsatisfying would be if they were still getting constantly berated even after their heroics.

It's still plausible. A life-threatening event caused a shitty person to have a change of heart for the better, even if just a little bit. Of course he wouldn't have had the change if the event had never happened.

Is that supposed to be a hunter's attire? With ribbons and stripes that could get entangled in the vegetation? AITA?

I always just assume everyone can no-clip through most forms of ground vegetation and shrubbery with how often they just walk through fully grown hedges and dense bushes as if there isn't a cluster of branches and possibly sharp thorns inside of it.

I'm curious, it looks like the elf girl's face is covered with something right before she disappears. Could it be some kind of body-erasing cream or camouflage effect? or is it actually a disease that's spreading across her body?

That was going to be my question as well.

It's part of the quest to find a way back to their original world. There are two main clues to do this:
1) Learn about magic circles, as presumably they were summoned into this world using a magic circle
2) Get a key from all three kings (humans, demons and beastmen), which should unlock a door to "another world" (which we expect is their original world)

Hiroki is trying to work towards 2 by getting the second key from the beastmen (they already have the first key from the demons). While Ren and Ruri are going for 1.

Path 1 also has two different paths:
1.1) Learn about magic circles from the people who originally created them: the great tree elves (see chapter 46)
1.2) Search for the facility where they were originally summoned to (as the crown prince said in chapter 61 that the magic circle in the throne room is a teleportation circle that connects to a secret location where the summoning actually took place)

After having talked to the prince, they decided to go for 1.2, since the great tree elves don't live in one place anymore and are actively hiding their identity as great tree elves. But in this chapter they revealed that they switched to path 1.1 and the elf we see here may possibly be one of the great tree elves.

Or you could see it as "I thought it might be the case, but didn't want to let my new archer feel uncertain because she might start second guessing herself so I didn't interfere right away = let you take the blame for it", and "now that you saved us I have a good excuse to confess even if I'm still not 100% certain, but also take notice that I didn't bring my archer along because I'm still not about to let her feel bad about this because I like her flamboyant style and think it makes her a better archer".
