@Dagger I live in a society where most people just go out and eat. So we just book a place somewhere fancier than usual for Christmas (or on a different day because traffic)
@nep at my house Christmas wasn’t even celebrated, no decorations, no traditional food, no gifts (probably because we’re not Christian, but still).... I read about it in books, watched it in shows and movies...and Christmas just seemed so magical and full of “hope”. I only ever once received a present
It was money, roughly $0.20, yet it made me super happy, as its my first present, and it gave me (false) hope to get one next year

When I turned 15, I used to buy my siblings presents with my own money, since I knew no adult would do that... and no, we were not poor, just in our house ‘gift giving’ was not a thing, but if you showed good results with your studies, you’d get rewards accordingly.
