I'm assuming, the darker pieces are not dandelion, but some sort of flower. That's how he made the crown, with only 11 dandelion fluffs at hand. Just FYI to the translators/editors who missed that detail.

The darker ones are unfluffed dandelions. You will often find both fluffed and unfluffed in the same general area.
