It always seems like manga in Japan depict typhoons as something to play in, even if dangerous. When I was a kid, there was ZERO chance my parents were letting me near windows during a hurricane. Providing we hadn't lost power, we could watch the local news reports on the storm, but looking out the windows was forbidden, lest they get broken.
