Thanks for continuing the translation. Though I have to talk to Sappho Scans or Danke fürs Lesen first? I am not opposed to taking dropped series, but their last chapter was a month ago. Not to mention, they might have worked with you if you talked to them first.

I guess Japan doesn't have medical privacy laws. That or her mother waived them. "Sure, tell the whole school my son is now my daughter." Joking aside, the fact that he was already a student there before the illness hit did not give them many options.

Thanks for the translation!

it's insane to me that the black hair requirement was actually a thing in Japan until very recently...
Legally, yes.

But the social stigma still remains. When you browse social media, you keep seeing stories like "Teacher gave me hell for my hair" or "Classmates look at me weird because I don't dye my hair black."

Things like this happen: https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20220531/p2a/00m/0na/007000c

What's changing is that the younger generation, with the rise of social media, is starting to take less crap when it comes to these traditional standards. They're becoming more outspoken and are publicly calling out aggressors, so I don't think this entire mentality around hair will stick around much longer.

Why be surprised, it's a very japanese thing. Everyone is expected to conform to the norms of society in Japan. The population overwhelming the same group of people, 98% of something i think. Standing out or going against the grain in Japan isn't as acceptable or a good idea compare to some other countries unfortunately. To put it bluntly, compare to how it's portrayed in Japanese media [like anime or manga], it's often not good to be different in Japan especially if you want to be accepted by society.

just so you know the credit page of ch 19 mentioned they were looking for redrawers, making your remarks at the end kinda ironic - no one would need to resort to google translate if you had just joined efforts instead

Hi, I love your enthusiasm and it must have been quite a bit of work to put out a chapter solo.

I'm the leader of Sappho Scans, the group who did the last batch of chapters. We've been looking for redrawing help with this series for ages. So I was wondering, would you be interested in joining forces?

Honestly our biggest hold up has always been with getting the redraws done. Which is why we've teamed up with Danke for the past few chapters. Your redraws, with our proper translations and proofreading. It sounds like a good match to me.

Feel free to DM me if you're interested or reach out on discord, are.ko

Just need to say that 18:02 for a 5km is still crazy fast considering its her first run in a new body. That's something like 3:36/km. As a runner myself I could only dream of that time.

Hey everyone,

I'm Kai. I'm super happy to see everyone's positive reply to my effort. I'm happy to complete the series solo, but I've sent a msg to Areko313 from Sappho Scans to have a chat.

Thanks for the positive reception.
Kind Regards,
Kai
Glad you and the groups are talking. So many groups have slowed down or stopped due to a lack of redrawers. I hope that ‘Akiba Detectives’ and ‘I’d Rather Sleep’ are able to start updating but they are in the same boat.
