What the... Where was this chapter printed? Will there be more? Who's the mother? I don't remember her.

I don't remember this either . . . but it sure looks like it redeemed the terrible ending, so that's nice because I hated the ending with a pure passion. The mother at the beginning is Karin herself after a time skip; the character that LOOKS like Karin is her daughter, who seems to have, at the age of 6, ventured into the vampirey forest and gotten acquainted with the side of the family Karin had forcibly forgotten, eventually reuniting them through sheer force of personality.

That special was on batoto so it's been around for a few years. I agree, the ending to Karin sucked. :(

I can't believe it's been 10 years now since Karin finished. Brings back good memories of being annoyed at Tokyopop randomly renaming it generically so as to prevent brand confusion with another manga that I don't believe sold very well either.

Viz picked up the Tokyopop license so we'll be missing those 11 chapters from volume 10 to 12.

Ooh, this one was cute... I didn't really mind the ending, though it was a bit unsatisfying

My first non mainstream manga I read. I just decided to read something else besides Naruto all those years ago in Barnes and Noble. I was still a middle schooler too

I thought this was just going to be a trashy manga, but the drama is REALLY good! Fantastic read!

Really nice and wholesome. Ending could have been better SPOILER: wish they didn't erase Karin's memory at the end.

Really enjoyable 9.5/10.

Remembered about this and came back after so long.

9/10 Satisfying read. Ending is great too IMO.
Not the happiest ending but it gives off a bittersweet yet happy sense of closure.

Its like having a bad ending, a good ending, and the golden ending with this story settling for good ending.

I honestly want a sequel involving the father-con daughter but that probably wouldn't happen.

The ending is bittersweet (yet another from the author infamous for their bittersweet endings), yet it's the best and the "most good" ending possible. A great manga from start to finish, good plot, good characters, a deserved 9/10

Great read, 10/10 even though the unnecessary action which I will spoil next sentence. (The special's narration implies that he learned the family tree, maybe they came into contact in the future, giving Karin her memories back? She really shouldn't have lost them.)

The special extra chapter really makes me want more afterstory chapters just to see their kid discover that Karin was a vampire all along. It really makes the ending not all that sad anymore since it's not like they're dead and can't see Karin again or anything.

The ending is somewhat different from what I remember...

I could have sworn that the ending had something to do with Karin becoming a full-fledged human because of her first kiss with Kenta, rendering the Brownlick's plans null and void?

From now on, this manga will be my go-to example for demonstrating that main characters don't have to be complex (or very intelligent) to be compelling. Barring some of the random slice of life shenanigans, I was hooked all the way through.
