All's well that ends well. Even if the coworker misunderstood the foundation of the crossdressing, at least his final line revealed the core perspective about what you like, and extending others the same latitude.

Mourning dress, goes straight to talking about thongs. Gotta love these dorks :glee:

I wonder what "discussions" with the business partner there are to finalize :chad:

another great chapter, I honestly like this more than if Mori had totally gotten it 100%. with anything, but especially things that break gender norms, you're going to encounter people who don't get it and misunderstand why you're doing it. It's not great that Mori's mind instantly jumped to the gutter, and its arguable he really shouldn't be saying things like this with someone who hasn't made it abundantly clear they're comfortable with it, but he also isn't a bigot or an asshole for looking at it that way. He processed it through a framework he can understand ("I don't want my fetishes getting out the office either!"), respects subaru's privacy, and doesn't treat him any differently for it. It's messy and complicated and not ideal, but sometimes thats all you can ask for. an interesting dynamic for sure.

For some reason, his coworker's comments on crossdressing turning him on and things like that, made me feel, upset...for some reason
It’s the same energy as when certain people say that trans people as just perverts. It takes their entire identity and goes “it’s just a fetish”. I could definitely see how that can be frustrating.

Some people really just love and have to find a way to make themselves upset yes or yes no matter what even if no drama happens. It's like they would've just preferred for the drama to happen so they could justify their per-emptive and since it didn't now they've gotta do mental gymnastics to find a new motive no matter how many hoops they've gotta jump to find it.
Must be really tiring to live like that.

At the very least Mori is in a position to listen positively and in the future fully understand Subaru's feelings and motives, especially given his stance of "you like what you like, it shouldn't matter whether people praise you for it or not". The quickest way to turn him away as an ally is to attack him for viewing things through his perspective lense rather than explaining the situation through your own; something too many people do these days and wonder why no one fucking understands them... well have you fucking tried to understand WHY the other person doesn't?

I actually think it's okay to not get why people do or feel things. He is respectful, accepting and that's all that matters. I also think he was trying to be playful to not put pressure on Subaru.
Not everyone will get you and not everything has to be explained or can be explained or understood.

In my opinion (and experience) this is a far worse outcome then a standard negative one, hopefully it never amounts to anything and this is the final resolution....
