if he wasnt aware why do it? he damn well knew hed get that kind of reaction
i'm not defending him; it's just an observation. suddenly seeing such a gory scene out of nowhere, without any warning, would naturally ellicit shock—especially from a newbie to acting who wasn't told that all of this was set up. that hanae would respond with absolute terror and despair because of her trauma is just the cherry on top for him 😠

i think he knew, even if she acted surprised a regular dose of that wouldnt fit the story a normal reaction in this scenario is surprise followed by confusion not terror, if she didnt react with legitimate terror and despair then the whole thing is pointless, he believed that she would get triggered

i think he damn well knew she was traumatized and purposely picked at it

Yeah, that guy absolutely deserved that punch in the face. Whether he legitimately knew Hanae had trauma from the earthquake or not, he should never be so callous as to basically ignore his actress' distress just for the sake of making his movie.

BTW, if Kuso Megane Tachi is interested in taking on new projects, might I suggest a short manga called Artiste wa Hana o Fumanai by Marco Kohinata? I hear it's a really good story but it has no English scanlation anywhere. Plus it's only one volume long.

I knew we got the planting that he's a full-on artistic sociopath a bit earlier but I didn't expect for it to pay off this soon

This chapter make me remember how Kubrick directed the shinning. He left big trauma to the lead actress by pushed her to the bitter limit it’s leaves long life PTSD to her. Kubrick known as scumbag but brilliant director.
