Only happy ending I see at this point is if hiro reconciles he’s holding back her happiness and kills himself somehow, after some heartfelt ‘this is what I want’ monologue so she won’t feel bad.

Happy ending would be great, but the temptation to do the disaster arc is too strong. Reality of the situation is Yu and Airi are two famous people who keep a mutilated human as a dog in their apartment. Either they kill him and lose their sanity trying to hide the body/secret or somebody discovers Hiro living there the way he is and they have to kill THAT person.

I'd much prefer the happy ending tho.

I made an account just to comment. I'm a psychological and angst veteran, but this messed up story just shoots me straight into the abyss by how hauntingly real it is. True horror is when you realize it can very well be what happens right next to you and you would never know. Not sure if I would ever recommend this to anyone or reread it ever - it's destructive, frustrating, nauseating and brilliantly told. I usually don't bat an eyelash consuming this kind of genre, but this made me take several breaks in between to regain myself. I'm a little scared, regretful and relieved as we seem to be reaching the finale soon. Yeah this manga certainly made me feel Things. Just hope the author pushed through to the end on a steadier pace (it seems to go on regular hiatus lately and author's SNS were all wiped) and the translator wouldn't drop it. It's one of those stories that I really really wish to see a proper end to it. I'm glad at least that I found it when it has reached over a boiling point and is slowly coming to a resolve... perhaps? Or shit is gonna hit the fan again.

Funny how it took me a dozen of chapter to finally register that the story has really progressed after chapter 12 and it's not just Airi being stuck in her illusion of a future outside of the garbage house. I was deeply convinced that she actually did kill Hiro and lost her mind for good with that panel of her sitting on the bathtub, and the following chapters were all just events made up in her broken mind and spirit. Let's hope that's not gonna be how it's going to be wrapped up (yes I have trust issues)
