Blows my mind she didn’t start screaming immediately as she came in contact with someone outside but I get it to an extent. Against all odds the rapist formed a codependent relationship with her, it’s probably the first time either person has been able to share their trauma so it’s not impossible that they form a bond, if only to commiserate.
