It's always a wonderful day when a new Eizouken chapter comes out. Though I must say I did not have "We get a new Eizouken member who's also a femboy (I legit thought this guy was a girl last chapter, my bad) with a deep sadness in his eyes" as my first guess for this chapter's plotline. Regardless, thanks for the scan!

there actually isn't anything in the Japanese dialogue this chapter thats confirms Watabiki's gender, i sorta made the "guy" assumption after seeing the uniform (and have since started second-guessing that decision since in the flashback it looks like he's wearing a skirt)

anyway technically Watabiki's gender is still unclear, we'll see if i have to go back and edit this chapter sometime in the future i guess!

I also think Watabiki is a girl, specially after those flashback pages when she was unpacking her school utensils

I think it's pretty awesome that a manga about making anime is actually a full blown philosophy and ethics primer. Every chapter is like,

Thanks so much for these. I'm slowly ordering the volumes so I can own such an important work.

Ah, I got into trouble for the same thing Asakusa got in trouble for a lot in high school also. Teachers aren't receptive to being corrected, specifically on things that you personally know a lot about. I really felt for her there in that moment.
