Maybe im easy to please, but how is this series only a 7 star? Even on kappabeasts website its a 3. This is an easy 4/5 and at least 8/10 for me 😅. I wanna see what happens as MC frees the minds of his old party. If the 1st one is anything to go off of, its not gonna be pretty.
It is a great manga.

I'd guess the lower rating are from people who never made it through the initial stages, where this thing, which is definitely what Mother's Basement would classify as One of Those Fucking Things, goes through of the generic steps of:

1) Man who'd always given his all for his party but has a "strange/misunderstood" gimmick is back-stabbed by his party.
2) Man discovers as soon as he leaves the party that his strange gimmick is overwhelmingly and insanely overpowered, and he never needed the party at all. (Bonus points to the writer if the "strange" power really is weird and clunky, minus points if the power is obviously and blatantly awesome.)
3) Man proceeds to reap the benefits of always being awesome while free of his party of parasites.
4a) Man's in-party girlfriend who was absent during his betrayal/banishment finds out he was betrayed and leaves the party to go find him AND/OR
4b) Man buys/rescues underage (usually demihuman) slave and (accidentally or deliberately) grooms her to be his new girlfriend.
5) Man eventually gets revenge against his former party, who are were grossly incompetent, evil, or both.
6) Man continues to go down the wish fulfillment checklist as he wins against everything, gaining power, fame, and bitches.

This work does a lot of things right to make it stand above most of Those Fucking Things, but it undoubtedly is One of Those Fucking Things, and there's enough fatigue with those that I imagine a lot of people bounce right off this.

I'm still curious if we're going to get an eventual reveal that Kaede is a transmigrator/reincarnator/regressor, since she has the tell-tale Appraise ability and she keeps displaying knowledge specific and relevant to the main plot.

I skipped to the latest chapter out of curiosity. Why is MC struggling against a level 200 monster when he's level 300?
Infinite meat shields
and babysitting two people

7) woMan slave was perfect but grew older :pepela:

Really not feeling a good reason as to why MC and friends, couldn't just pulvertize every inch of the monster's body, until they reached the core of it.
Their whole point is that they're so OP, nothing stands in their way.
This whole "calling to their hearts" shit undermines it.

A typical thing in RPG-ish stories where everyone has massive stats and HP totals and whatnot, but the author has no real idea what those stats mean and high level people can just die to a sword stab.

"HP means nothing" is shockingly common in these things.

Regardless, the base premise here is that even if the big-boss has a lot of whatever, the MC has more of it.
Narratively, it'd make more sense for the MC to struggle, just because he doesn't want to extinguish the absorbed bodies without a proper procedure, so having them regain their memories would somewhat qualify...

But in general, yeah, I get you. Reminds me when I saw how stabbing someone in their sleep, with a 1d4 knife, can and should insta-kill, no matter how much HP they have. It's not just the lit-rpg stories that have these gaps, albeit I bet they get much bigger.

Would've lost the battle of attrition. Their regen was pretty big, and they would take a hit every time they failed.

I feel like this chapter really highlights the MC's incompetence as it feels like from previous chapters that he's more than strong enough to just atomize the entirety of the villain in one move.

If they wanted to make this power of souls shit necessary they should have had the MC use an actual big move that damages the whole body instead of the MC half assing an attack on the fake core on top then going the regen is too strong better never attack again. How would you know the regen is too strong idiot, you've barely tried anything.

Hmmm. Yeah, I'd guess that this whole thing was supposed to demonstrate that there are hard counters to Toru and he can't unga-bunga through everything, but they failed to actually show it.

Toru splattering the ghost golem thing just to have it immediately reconstitute because he failed to satisfy its destruction condition would've been way better.

Kaede is still one of the hottest things ever committed to pen and ink.

I can't imagine what would happen if it managed to escape.
