Iv what world did this series look like a fluffy yuri manga? The main character was doing something explicitly really weird from the start.
And, frankly, straight society's views about lesbians shouldn't stand in the way of lesbians talking about ourselves and telling stories about ourselves we want to tell. It isn't helpful to respond to stereotypes about lesbian promiscuity by making our fiction about ourself wholy sexless and monogamous when, frankly, it isn't bad that lesbians tend to be more open to fluid relationships than the straights.
Toxic yuri is popular among lesbians for a reason. We don't want fiction written torrified of what the straights might think of us because of it. That's simply exhausting to read. Lesbians are messy and no amount of turning yuri into a clean, sexless monogamy will make the straights like us.
Something here is certainly exhausting to read and I'm not going to read any more after this post. . .
If you seriously can't see why these tired tropes are harmful in a society where the LGBT community are struggling for acceptance as normal human beings then I am not wasting any more time on you. If you can't understand why, popular as SA fantasies may be, there is also a large audience that actually doesn't want every other yuri they read to devolve into SA then I am doubly not wasting any more time on you. The direction this series is going appeals to your personal taste and you won't accept that there are people who want yuri titles that differ from your tastes. That's disturbing. And I do NOT have an issue with sex in yuri manga! I don't even have an issue with them having multiple partners! I don't like SA and this manga features characters that appear to be open to sleeping around, or can be coerced into it, and thus prime targets for the NTR slut who is absolutely not above blackmail and SA to get what she wants! THAT is my issue! And I don't like how often yuri titles, in particular, go this route. Stop making it seem like I'm against sex in yuri manga!
Also. . . How dare you try to marginalize me by insinuating "we lesbians" as if you speak for all lesbians and I'm on the outside looking in. You don't know a damned thing about me and you do NOT speak for all lesbians. Hate to break it to you. And you certainly don't speak for me, a SA victim who went through the entire 00s having to avoid yuri titles because of the SA usually portrayed in them. I had
Kashimashi and
Stray Little Devil and nothing else until I decided to start looking 4-5 years ago. So, yeah, when I'm looking for a safe yuri title to read and get swerved it really does bother me because it can lead to a full blown panic attack if it's bad enough. I have to be careful about what I read and watch and yuri titles don't make it easy for me, especially when it comes off innocent like this one only to introduce an NTR slut for "drama". Like you care, though, you have your "toxic" yuri titles so you're satisfied, to hell with what anyone else might want.
