I mean...does the MC even need the magic cats? We've seen him single handedly wipe a whole city out of the map by simply compressing it inside a barrier...I highly doubt there exists an army that can trump that.

Need? Hell no. I expect these cats to be an economics issue next chapter, probably to be resolved by them being town guards and tourist attractions in their habitat in exchange for delicious cooked fish and catnip.
