It's not the sweet kind, certainly, or (just) the whipped egg whites, but basically used here to describe how much air he's whipping into it to make them really light and fluffy. He actually uses the English (okay French) word 'meringue' every time, so I decided to leave it.

There was a dad, who took off.

And yeah, for me the Obvious Good Ending would be Wasuke marries Mama and Momo is his legal daughter. And then more kids so Momo isn't lonely. You'll see a lot more of Mama in next chapter.

Yeah, they are not exaggerating how thick the pancakes get in real life if you whip enough air into them. But then you're paying a premium for air.

You'll see (in next chapter) that she's just a complete airhead. This author likes throwing in some fakes but there's nothing actually too dark (except how beastmen treat hitomodoki).
