There is no reason in story for him to hear him out except to add more tension. Also, he should understand by now (as in lets say the beginning of the arc) that people are shitty and that they will do anything to get their way. Heck he already shows he knows when he taught them gate and so on. Then, he is supposed to come from our world. Even if he came from "oh so peaceful utopic japan" he at least must have known of some shitty parts of human history. Or just stories of drama and so on. I'm not saying that he should be a psychic but at least not that naive. Even more so after knowing that you and your loved ones are being targetted.

Yes I always wonder why people try to argue killing everyone is a rational response. Becoming a serial killer is the bad trope , this manga ain't great by any means but him killing everyone wouldn't make it better .

Also in all honesty is this is all it takes for shin to demonize them he's just a cumin walking nuclear bomb and should be left back in seclusion .

@Nick86 cliché ? in all the similar scenarios i've ever witnessed it's always the "unexpected element" that everybody reading/watching expected that comes to put a stop to the MC going berserk , killing him would have been far less cliché in my opinion + it leaves you with a satisfaction , i mean you want bad guys to get what they deserve and it's fiction so there isn't that much repercussion to killing

I would rather see Cicily butchering that priest. I know the diplomatic implications, but can anyone really stop him if he wanted? Also, I understand that there would be some complications but with the popularity and support that these guys receive and the unpopularity of that archbishop, they could very well take care of those complications and even get the good guys image. Or could even cover up everything easily, given Shin unreasonable power. Not enough evidences, making trouble to the ultimate magicians(plus kingdom) wouldn't be wise. I believe(jk, I don't believe, I hope) the holy nation knows better(even though they absolutely missed in who to send as representative). And that guy could have been a thorn in someone's else hand. So why not show some gratitude by shutting up.
Well, of course, most can only happen if that priest was already a bastard. Anyways, no one needs a huge argument to justify murdering that guy. People already killed for less.

I think people are mistaking a climatic moment with violence. I'm not saying that the chapter was great, it was certainly not executed well. The biggest problem for me is the pacing and overall presentation.
