@unknownids I think you're not understanding what a donation is. They aren't actually obliged to do anything. You're not doing a transfer of money for goods or services. You're just giving them money.

@joel7686 and again, against normal people thats a good point. against an enemy you stand no chance against, who cuts through you faster then a sun through butter, the likelihood of you slowing them down to give the civs time to evacuate doesnt seem great. they might be able to fight off the half demons that broke off on their own but the main force would roll over them. this is comparing spearmen to nukes. its going to go badly.

so yes, theyre going to be doing basically nothing when the enemy is strong enough to wipe out their entire capital city without them being able to resist or delay at all. as for food and supplies, they can teleport around and shen is probably going to make some magical pouch(if he hasnt already and i forgot) to carry anything they need because of course he could.

manga, not real world. crazy op magical world manga, not real world.

Regarding the knife discussion near the beginning: Everyone in this manga continues to make stupid, tropey, decisions. OF COURSE, you would use the superior weapon in a war. THAT NOT EVEN A QUESTION! When guns were invented they were adopted and improved almost immediately, because they were so effective and because they took significantly less training compared to the longbow, or even the crossbow. NO, their archers didn't know how to use them at first and once they did, archery skills fell out of favor. But nobody in charge or otherwise (except maybe the archers themselves) cared because THEY WERE FUCKING WINNING WARS.

If you don't jump at the chance to use a clearly better weapon you have no right to be a general sending people out to die on your behalf.

I think this is a drop from me.

I didn't really read this for any other reason but watching Shin and Cecily's flirting and the occasional fanservice. The story itself wasn't worthy. But I suppose I will miss this after a fashion.

Then why isn't Shin making rifles powered with magic already?- Completely overpowering enemies who are either melee units or mages and well, let's just say it could be like in Tanya the Evil where the bullets are physical but are mass enchanted. That'd be pretty cool, and smart, I think.

There is a general rule in writing if you're going to have an overpowered character you 1: Let them use that power (One Punch Man) or 2: Give a darned good reason why they can't. This manga does neither. "Because I don't want to stick out," is the stupidest reason ever especially when people dying around you.

@Jorelm It's a shame, a real shame, it's always wasted opportunities like this to make cool things that make me downvote the manga, Shin is now internationally recognized as "Angel of God", at this point a normal life is an impossibility, so he's well above "not sticking out", sigh.

Ins't it ironic that mangakas are technically supposed to be adults, but their teenager protagonists are more child-like than actual real life teenagers?
