@Confused apparently author wants us to feel sorry for the psychopath demons that raped, tortured, and murdered villagers in some towns.

Yeah, give us a flashback of demons with sad story and rape to make us feel bad about them... that will work ;)

To be fair, I can't help to sympathize with the guys who turned into demons after living absolutely shitty lives and getting fucked over by their own nation when they are facing against Mr Gary Stu who was raised by living legends, is a god when it comes to magic, is loved by the upper brass of his own nation and never had to experience any sort of difficulty or meaningful setback.

Though that has more to do with the MC being poorly written than the villain's generic tragic backstory.

So I guess this author just has the same backstory for every villian? They were tragedy’d by edgelord villians so they become carbon copies of those edgelord villians as payback? Inertia has been keeping me reading but I doubt I’ll last more than another chapter.

Well.

If all you can do is slap a generic tragic backstory to your silly little psychopathic demons, than why would you even bother making this to begin with?

Well whatever. i had lost interest in your generic charisma man story anyways.

Fucking manga may as well be a template with how generic and cliche it is.

It's beyond bizarre that the author thinks any of this makes sense.
Putting aside how mustache-twirling evil those nobles seem to be, being that blatant with the abuse of the commoners would have led to a mass uprising ages ago, demons or no demons.

This author is so retarded. It baffles me that this is getting an anime.

Im sorry but i did not care one bit about their personal reasons why they destroyed their own country. We already knew why strom did it and that hes going to gather and easily find people who think the same in a corrupt/evil kingdom like that is kinda obvious. I dont need to know how they did it and i for sure dont need to know what reasons his subordinates have for destroying their country. We already know. The country is shit, people have gone against the kingdom, destroyed them and caused troubles for other countrys as well during the process. No shits given , I would kill them all anyway.

Useless sidestory chapter.

The ones you are talking about and the ones in chapters aren't the same. The guys in the chapter are a military squad and part of the the upper management of the demon side. The rapists/murders are the commoners these guys turned to demons because they simply needed the numbers and no one cares if those idiots die. They are literally disposable pawns precisely because they are unhinged with no self control.

@TUSF
But the uprising did happen. It just needed a spark. What did you think Happen to Strom and his wife? When the commoners rage peaks, the bad guys just shift the blame and the commoners fall for it hook, line and sinker. It's why Strom gives zero fucks for both nobles and commoners now. nobles for being greedy and commoners for being so fucking stupid.

@TUSF Agreed, this entire thing seems as the author immature asspull to say "see they arent evil, it was the evil of other people that made them do this". Its freaking stupid and it just reminds my why i dropped MT, when you keep making everyone an irredeemable douchebag then in the end there is no one left for the reader to cheer for.

@DarkLordAlfie The only reason why I even keep reading this is for tits now, and even that is getting stupid

@Acolytus The problem is, its not organic, its hamfisted, if they were treated like that, they would have left a long time ago and turn to being bandits or just defected to another country, the captain just convincing them with some vague words of loyalty is retarded.

Let's applaud.

This chapter is a masterpiece. It just destroyed the whole manga alone, out of nowhere and for absolutely nothing. This deserves an award of comedy.

Well, dropped for me. Have a nice day guys.

@Trov: The problem is that these 'upper management' (*coughthebrasscough*) seem to be willing to use the same tactic that made them rage in the first place.

Unless this is that one guy's lone decision, and his boss/the squad beat the crap out of him for trying that route later, this is just them being hypocrite.
"Our bro's imouto got raped and kill, let's try to rape and kill this girl and see how the hero react!"

Frankly, this seem to be author trying to setup a sort of 'demon country' solution where it's ruled by demons with some sense of moral who'll handle dealing with dangerous demons in return for other countries not trying to kill them. i.e. Shin's squad level of power that's not affiliated to any country to deal with Gus's concern that other country won't take it ell to Earlshide's achievement.
But when despite their past they're fine with using the very same cowardly/villainous tactic....it just doesn't work.

At least Strom seem consistent on his part, he wanted the Empire destroyed, both commoners and nobles, and after that's done he's back to his researcher mindset. He probably know his subordinate is planning something, but that's not his concern.
