That church lady made no sense whatsoever, and that's probably intentional, but for it to be treated like the church being shady is a secret while she's out here being all crazy is just unbelievable to me. Her entire dialogue was just:
1. Nooo you can't be a saint and also have a position of power (while the princess is literally standing there)
2. Nooo, you need to be registered with the church for us to recognize you as a saint or we'll kill you (meanwhile their cardinal and one of their saints was running a slave arena that carried out human experimentation... nice vetting process there).
3. Nooo, you can't just decide it's a hassle to be a saint and decide to not be a saint so you don't have to follow our rules for saints. That's... just not allowed, okay?! (Literally just enslaving people by threat of death to join them and acting like they're not total scumbags.)
I get the MC is a blind follower of the princess (pun also intended), but this whole series of developments just feels so forced. Not only was the church responsible for his blinding and his enslavement in his last life, but he literally just got done killing the saint that was directly involved in the princess' murder last time around as well, so I have no idea how he was even remotely calm facing off against the church lady. Hell, I have no idea why he didn't at least get angrier at the dress idea when he found out it was all because of her. The princess isn't even in the organization yet, so he could very well save her from becoming a puppet again if he wanted to, but instead he's putting them both at risk by playing along with them.
