It's yandere yuri...without the yuri!
In Chinese we call it pseudo-yuri (nise-yuri) (
萌娘百科). In order to avoid confusion over terminology, we divided crossdressing-related yuri into three categories: a) ⚢ crossdressing yuri (男装百合 dansō yuri), between a girl and a crossdressing girl, which is real yuri (or GL); b)
⚤ nise-yuri (偽百合), between a girl and a crossdressing boy (otokonoko); c) ⚣ ura-yuri (裏百合), between two crossdressing boys. The last two are not real yuri.
In the other side, we have a) ⚣ crossdressing bara (女装薔薇 josō bara), between a boy and a crossdressing boy, which is real bara (or BL, yaoi); b) ⚤ nise-bara (偽薔薇), between a boy and a crossdressing girl; c) ⚢ ura-bara (裏薔薇), between two crossdressing girls.
This classification is useful for distinguishing three categories corresponding to ⚢, ⚤, and ⚣, since many readers prefer not to mix them together. For example, some yuri fans object to the inclusion of a crossdressing boy in works mistakenly marketed as yuri. Giving each category its own name makes discussions clearer and helps avoid unnecessary arguments between different fandoms.
