The concept isn’t that bad per se, but the way the author chose to portray it feels incredibly artificial. The characters are also irritating, and it feels like teenagers trying to act like adults trying to act like teenagers, so as cringey as this sentence turned out.

IIRC this manga is being adopted from a book....

The bully is like a mega-rich kid with strong connections everywhere, and he uses that to even threaten the school administration. So I can understand the teacher's trying to do something in his favor.... but I don't know enough about Japanese culture and etiquette to know how bowing deep has a chance to override all of that.........
