We still dont know enough to see if that is possible. Perhaps he cant reprocess used materials (since they arent “raw” anymore) or the process cant be interrupted or the creation process will fail.

So what I can understand is that MC's skill is produce items that takes days or months to create in an instant. So like, compressing the whole time process into a short period of time and no resting, is that how it seems?? Then that could partially explain the drawback

Sure. On the other hand, the sword saintess wasn't coughing up blood after cutting the fire salamander in half, with one swing. To me, this suggests the MC's skill isn't supposed to be used self-destructively. It's still a type of magic belonging to the same world as the skills and magic of the other characters. I'd say the MC just is a combination of an airhead and tunnel vision. Once he finds one way to do something, he never stops to consider if that's the best, or even the correct, way of doing it, he just keeps sticking to it, to ruin and the world's ending.

We don't know how other engineers do things, is possible that MC is pushing his class way beyond his limit and making do things it shouldn't, and the strain to break his own limit is causing a massive recoil on his body.

That makes more sense, he probably hasnt considered any other possibility or method to improve his refining/creation process. Probably never had the chance since it was all in or be kicked out.
